Matt Evans is an award-winning saxophonist, chamber musician, and educator whose performances combine technical precision with artistic depth. A member of the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” Evans has performed throughout the United States and abroad, premiering works by leading contemporary composers and contributing to the evolving language of the saxophone. A founding member of the Zzyzx Quartet, the Eastman Saxophone Project, and Project Fusion, he has helped shape the sound and direction of modern chamber music for the instrument. Dr. Evans holds Performer’s Certificates from both Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and the Eastman School of Music, where he earned his DMA. A Yamaha Performing Artist and D’Addario Woodwinds Artist-Clinician, he remains deeply committed to advancing saxophone performance and education through collaboration and innovation.
