Daniel Egan, trumpet, is a member of the Richmond Symphony. Originally from Verona, New Jersey, Mr. Egan has performed with the New York Philharmonic, National, Houston, Alabama, Jacksonville, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestras. He served as interim principal trumpet of the Iceland Symphony, and regularly performs with the Houston Grand Opera. Previous engagements have included performances with Sir Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev, Manfred Honeck, and Fabio Luisi. Mr. Egan attended Indiana University and the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. He is a founding member of Loop38, a Houston-based new music collective. A passionate educator, Mr. Egan has been on the faculty at the Luzern Festival, and is a sought after clinician and and pedagogue throughout Texas. Daniel Egan maintains an active studio in the greater Houston area and, in his spare time, enjoys playing jazz, reading, and exercising.
