NewBassoon Institute Registration

$400.00

The 2018 NewBassoon Institute with Dark in the Song will be held June 8-12.  This year’s institute, focused on contemporary bassoon music and techniques, will be held in conjunction with the National Music Festival in beautiful Chestertown, MD, on the Chester River, an arm of the Chesapeake Bay. It is geared towards undergraduate and graduate bassoon students, though anyone at any stage of their career may attend.
The workshop will include concerts, masterclasses, topical classes, and lots of playing new high-quality bassoon ensemble music together vis-a-vis chamber rehearsals and performances throughout the region.  Readings and a performance of Michael Gordon’s Rushes will comprise some of the fun.  Students may also enter our affiliated Performance Competition.
This year’s faculty include Jeff Lyman, Lynn Hileman, Rachael Elliott, and Michael Harley.  Peter Kolkay will perform in the opening concert.
